Bitmine Adds Another 15,112 ETH

Bitmine Immersion Technologies has expanded its Ethereum treasury again, purchasing 15,112 ETH over the past week and bringing its total holdings to 6,016,414 ETH as of Oct. 4. The company said the latest purchase extends a weekly buying strategy that began on June 30, 2025.

At a reference price of $2,726 per ETH, the company’s Ethereum holdings were valued at approximately $16.4 billion. Bitmine said its position represents 4.9% of the 122.1 million ETH supply, putting the company close to its stated goal of holding 5% of Ethereum’s total supply.

The scale of the treasury makes Ethereum the dominant asset in Bitmine’s reported holdings. The company’s strategy centers on accumulating ETH while also generating returns from a large portion of the tokens through staking.

More Than 5 Million ETH Is Staked

Bitmine reported that 5,067,309 ETH of its holdings is currently staked through its MAVAN platform and staking partners. At the company’s $2,726 reference price, that portion was worth about $13.8 billion and represented roughly 84% of its total ETH balance.

The company projected annualized staking revenue of approximately $363 million based on a seven-day annualized yield of 2.63%. Bitmine’s staking strategy therefore forms an important part of its broader Ethereum treasury model. Rather than holding its entire ETH position idle, the company has committed a substantial portion of its holdings to Ethereum’s staking ecosystem.

Bitmine Reports $17.4 Billion in Total Holdings

Ethereum makes up the majority of Bitmine’s reported crypto position, but the company also holds other assets. As of Oct. 4, its portfolio included 214 Bitcoin, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, a $117 million stake in Eightco Holdings, and $643 million in cash and marketable securities.

Together with its ETH and other reported assets, Bitmine said its crypto, cash, marketable securities and other holdings totaled $17.4 billion. Bitmine’s latest company announcement

The company’s ETH position remains the centerpiece of that portfolio. Its latest purchase also continues a pattern of weekly accumulation that has pushed the treasury closer to the 5% ownership target.

Tom Lee Highlights ETH’s Third-Quarter Performance

Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee also highlighted Ethereum’s performance relative to traditional macro assets. He said ETH outperformed the S&P 500 by 6,832 basis points during the third quarter of 2026.

Lee pointed to several macroeconomic conditions that were present during the quarter, including a more hawkish Federal Reserve, higher oil prices, rising global bond yields and tighter financial conditions. He argued that ETH’s relative performance was notable despite those pressures.

In the company’s latest disclosure, Lee described the third-quarter performance as Ethereum “dwarfing other macro assets.” Bitmine’s official announcement via PR Newswire

ETH Price and Bitmine Shares

Ether traded around $2,711 on Monday, according to the figures provided in the original report. ETH was up 0.37% on the day, while its price had gained more than 10% over the previous month and more than 50% over the previous three months.

Bitmine’s stock, meanwhile, closed at $26.27 on Friday, down 1.72%, according to the supplied market data. The company’s stock performance is increasingly tied to investor expectations surrounding its large Ethereum treasury and its strategy for staking and accumulating ETH.

Bitmine Moves Closer to Its 5% ETH Goal

With 6,016,414 ETH now in its treasury, Bitmine has moved closer to its stated objective of controlling 5% of Ethereum’s supply. The company said its holdings already represent 4.9% of the 122.1 million ETH supply.

The latest acquisition also reinforces the central role Ethereum plays in Bitmine’s treasury strategy. With more than 5 million ETH staked and billions of dollars in additional assets and liquidity, the company is combining ETH accumulation with a staking-focused approach as it works toward its long-term target.

For Ethereum, Bitmine’s growing position adds another notable institutional treasury story to the broader ecosystem, where staking has become a core mechanism for securing the network and generating ETH rewards. Ethereum staking overview
